"What are Relative Metrics?"

Relative metrics individualize the absolute thresholds applied for each player by setting zones as a percentage of their maximum values.

"When and why should I use Relative Metric?"

Using absolute thresholds may underestimate or overestimate the physical demands experienced by players with different physical characteristics. The use of relative thresholds expressed as a percentage of players' maximal values can help you to interpret the intensities experienced by each player and this can lead to enhanced load management, training prescription, and rehabilitation strategies.
Here are some examples for you to understand when you should use Relative Metric.
Example 1)
Let's say that you have set the Player A's absolute threshold as > 5.5 m/s and the relative threshold as >70% max speed for Zone 5.
When viewing the Player-Activity Report of Player A, you will be able to view and compare the team and position averages to assess performance by using the absolute thresholds. On top of that, you will also be able to use the relative threshold to inform Player A of his periodization and load management strategies in subsequent activities.
Example 2)
Using our % max speed, % max acceleration, and % max deceleration metrics, you will be able to quantify the highest relative intensities achieved by players during a training or match activity. Exposing players to high-intensity activity that nears their maximal capability in the training week can help physically prepare players for matches and reduce the risk of injury.

"I have set the new thresholds (both relative and absolute) for my team. Will I be able to view all the reports in the past with these adjusted thresholds?"

The newly saved settings will be applied to reports you have created and analyzed after the settings are changed. To apply the new zone thresholds to previous reports created, you must access the Team-Activity Report of the activity you want to refresh and click Update Analysis.

"Will I be able to use Relative Metrics during live monitoring? (For X5 users only)"

The update on OHCOACH Live Ultimate will not be released at this time as this is currently still being developed. Our team are working hard to release this as soon as possible and there will be an announcement when the new version is ready.

"Will there be further updates based on Relative Metrics in the future?"

Please note that this is only the first version of the Relative Metric feature that will be released to you. We are planning to improve and update our Relative Metric feature so that you will be able to utilize our service with 100% efficiency. The upcoming updates are as follows and if you have any further questions, please contact support@fitogether.com or your 1:1 CS manager:
Relative Action Metric – The ability to define High Speed Running, Sprint, Explosive Acceleration, and Explosive Deceleration using a Relative zone threshold.
Setting Absolute Metric Threshold Individually - you will be able to adjust all the players' absolute thresholds individually.
Max % Metric History feature – you will be able to view the past values you have set for each player's max values.
A notification feature when a player exceeds the max speed set by a coach
These features are currently being developed and there will be an announcement when this update is ready.
